After nearly 10 years, the three well-liked owners of the 7-Eleven on E. Tremont Avenue sipped their final Slurpee last week, moving on to new business ventures but promising to always remember their loyal customers.
Bidding farewell on Wednesday, January 3, owners John Mendicino, Anthony Mendicino and Sal Sciarra shared a gloomy goodbye with workers and customers, as the business changed hands at the launch of the New Year.
The trio, who opened the chain convenience store in 1997, quickly became familiar with neighborhood residents, workers and students who stopped in throughout the day to grab a quick cup of coffee, a newspaper or a snack-to-go.
