Reduced fare MetroCards available

Metropolitan Transit Authority New York City Transit has announced scheduled stops of the MetroCard buses and vans in northeast Queens during January.
Senior citizens and people with disabilities are eligible to apply for the Reduced Fare MetroCard on the MetroCard vans and buses. Seniors must present photo identification to prove they are at least 65-years-old.
People with disabilities must have a valid U.S. Medicare Card (Red, White and Blue) along with a valid federal or state issued photo identification card. Disabled persons without Medicare cards must present their application including a completed the physician's section. After a review process, permanent Reduced Fare MetroCards are mailed to qualified applicants.
Members of the public can add value to their MetroCards or purchase pre-encoded MetroCards, including daily, weekly and monthly unlimited-ride passes. In addition, MTA staff will be available to answer any MetroCard-related questions.

The MetroCard bus/van stops in January:
Bay Terrace Shopping Center, Bell Boulevard and 24th Avenue, on January 8 and 22 from 9 to 11 a.m.; Bayside Senior Center, 221-15 Horace Harding Expressway, on January 26 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.; Clearview Assistance Program of Clearview Gardens, 163-59 17th Avenue at 166th Street, on January 24 from 9 to 10:30 a.m.; Fresh Meadows Shopping Center, 188th Street and Horace Harding Expressway, on January 8 and 22 from noon to 2:30 p.m.; Main Street and Roosevelt Avenue, on January 5 and 19 from 8 to 11 a.m.; North Shore Towers, 272-40 Grand Central Parkway, on January 16 from 1 to 3 p.m.; Queens Center for Progress (Formerly United Cereb), 81-15 164th Street, off Goethals Avenue, on January 5 and 19 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
