Stavisky takes oath

State Senator Toby Ann Stavisky, was sworn into office by Chief Justice Judith Kaye in the State Senate Chamber in Albany on January 3. Kaye, the first woman to head New York’s highest court, the Court of Appeals, administered oath of office to Stavisky, the first woman elected to the State Senate from Queens. Stavisky was reelected in November to her fifth term in the State Senate.
