Astoria teen stabbed to death

Police in the 114th Precinct found the lifeless body of an Astoria teen lying next to the Grand Central Parkway. He had been stabbed once in the chest by an unknown assailant.
Acting on an anonymous call to 9-1-1, cops discovered Emrand Hossain, a male Indian, near Hoyt Avenue and 28th Street in Astoria, just after 2 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16.
The 19-year-old, who lived a few blocks away at 30-86 32nd Street, was taken to Elmhurst General Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 4:15 a.m. According to police officials, no weapon was found, and the investigation is ongoing.
This was only the second murder in the 114th Precinct this year as compared with four by the same date last year.
