Being part of a social and religious organization can help to bring light and meaning to people’s lives.
The Israel Center of Conservative Judaism can do just that.
Its goal is to create a reservoir of people and funds dedicated to its mission of becoming the spiritual home of all its members. By establishing a comprehensive program of religious services, as well as hosting social and cultural gatherings, the Israel Center of Conservative Judaism is fostering the continued success and growth of the Jewish community.
“We’re a full service synagogue,” said Executive Vice President Marilyn Kaufman. “We’re always striving and looking for new members.”
The Center boasts a Hebrew school, a sisterhood for women, social groups and youth groups.
“We also have a gym and a swimming pool,” Kaufman added. “We’ve a very nice, warm and welcoming congregation.”
The synagogue, originally known as the Israel Center of Hillcrest Manor, recently merged with the Synagogue of Jamaica Estates and the Electchester Jewish Center, which were long-standing symbols of Judaism in their respective communities.
The Israel Center of Conservative Judaism, located at 167-11 73rd Avenue in Flushing, is always open for worship. Morning services begin at 6:30 a.m. (Sundays at 8:30 a.m.); evening worship is at 7:30 p.m.
