Pedestrian Struck In Elmhurst

A woman was struck by a cement truck and killed on Wednesday, December 19.
According to police, the victim, Maricela Perea, 60, was hit by a Commercial Concrete Corp. truck, driven by a 37-year-old man, traveling southbound on Woodhaven Boulevard. At the time of the incident, the woman was crossing southbound across Queens Boulevard towards Queens Center Mall. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
The driver of the truck, with approximately 20 years of experience, stayed on the scene and tried to help the woman. Police said he passed a Breathalyzer test.
There is no criminality suspected and the investigation is ongoing.
