To get the party started, get going to Party Zone in East Elmhurst.
The party planning service and catering hall, one of three Queens locations, has a package to fit every celebration — from kids’ birthday parties to adult office parties. Other locations are in College Point and Astoria.
Manager Nick Trianta said the idea is to have fun in a loosely-structured environment.
“The kids get to go a little wild. The parents don’t have to bother with the mess and they get to enjoy the party with their kids,” Trianta said.
Kids’ parties start at $299 with a basic two-hour package that provides set-up, arcade tokens, pizza and soda, activities and clean up. Theme parties such as High School Musical, Disco Karaoke, Princess or Pirate kick things up a notch with themed paper ware, cotton candy, and crafts projects thrown into the mix. The minimum group is 12; each child over the minimum is an additional $12.95.
If clients would like a more substantial meal, a full menu is available, including roasted chicken with yellow rice, lomo de cerdo (roast pork loin) lasagna, chicken parmigiana, salads, and more. Pizzas are available at $15 a pie any time, but full menu items must be ordered in advance. A tray of lasagna, for example, costs $70 and serves 15 people generously.
Hershey’s ice cream cakes (although clients may bring their own cakes) and pinatas stuffed with toys and candies are available as well.
The venue, located at 89-01 Astoria Boulevard, features two large party rooms, a jungle gym play area and an arcade. The two party rooms can be joined for larger functions.
Adult parties are set at a minimum of 50 people and packages start at $21.95 per person for a four-hour party that includes a buffet.
Alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited at the kids’ parties, but for the adult functions clients may bring their own.
Taxes and gratuities for the hostesses are not included in the price of the party.
The venue also hosts receptions for weddings and baptisms, Sweet 16 parties, office parties, and proms, Trianta said.
“We want our customers to have fun, to keep coming back, and we think we do a pretty good job. We’ve been in the business for seven years,” he said.
