Pheffer announces postal exams

Assemblymember Audrey Pheffer is pleased to announce that the United States Postal Service is currently registering for exams for several positions.
Registration for the exams is through May 4. The positions include: Building Equipment Manager, with a starting salary of $45,982; Maintenance Mechanic, $39,009; Mail Processing Equipment Mechanic, $45,982; Electronic Technician, starting salary of $49,078; Custodial Maintenance (eligible Veterans only); $31,851; and Auto Mechanic (requires valid State CDL “A” or “B” Driver’s License), starting at $39,009.
Applicants must pass a written exam and pre-employment suitability requirements. Applicants must first attain a minimum score of 70 percent (exclusive of Veteran Preference) on the written examination.
In addition, to qualify for postal employment, an applicant must be drug-free, have a vision of at least 20/40 in one eye and the ability to read without strain, printed materials the size of typewritten characters, glasses permitted.
