Eagle trio is honored

State Senator Frank Padavan (right) honored a trio of new Eagle Scouts from Troop 589 in Flushing recently during a Court of Honor ceremony at St. Andrew Avellino Church.
During the traditional ceremony, on Saturday afternoon May 24, the “Life Scouts” (from left) Arman Partamian, Chris Bartolini and Neal Donnellan were raised to the highest rank the Boy Scouts of America confer, that of Eagle.
Padavan presented each new Eagle Scout with the New York State Senate Medal of Achievement and a Certificate of Merit in recognition of their accomplishment.
In addition, Donnellan received a flag given to him and the Troop 589 for his Eagle Scout project - assembling “care” packages for members of the U.S. Army’s 1st Attack Reconnaissance Battalion deployed in Iraq.
The flag was flown over a Humvee during a mission on March 25, 2007.
