Police arrest woman for fleeing parking summons

ASTORIA — Police said they arrested a 24-year-old woman after she nearly struck pedestrians during an attempt to flee from receiving a double parking summons.

The defendant, charged with reckless endangerment and obstructing governmental administration, nearly crashed into other vehicles and hit pedestrians on 34th Street in Astoria as she attempted to drive away to avoid the parking ticket, police said.
