The Straphangers Campaign has bestowed its best−of−all subway−lines distinction on the No. 7 train.
The C train came in dead last.
The transit advocacy agency said the No. 7, which operates between Times Square in Manhattan and Flushing−Main Street in Queens, came in as excellent in all but one category: announcements.
The No. 7 was also recently designated cleanest subway line in the Straphangers Schmutz survey.
The runner−up in the Straphangers’ 12th annual rankings was the L.
Both the No. 7 and the L are operated under leadership of general managers, a new policy by which the New York City Transit Authority hopes to improve service.
Otherwise among Queens’ subway lines, the J⁄Z was sixth in the rankings, N was ninth, E was 10th, V was 14th, M was 15th, F was 16th, R was 18th, W was 19th and B was 20th.
The C was cited for breakdowns and a list of other shortcomings.
