Governor Paterson to receive ‘King of Kings’ award

The Queens Courier and Queens Business Today will hold the Second Annual Kings of Queens: A Champion’s Breakfast, Awards and Networking Event on Thursday, October 29 at 8:30 a.m. at Terrace on the Park, honoring outstanding individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to their profession and the community they serve.

The event will include networking, a business expo, breakfast and an awards ceremony.

Kings of Queens is being presented by American Airlines and sponsored by the North Shore-LIJ Health System, Parker Jewish Institute, TD Bank, Con Edison, New York Hospital Queens and St. John’s University.

Governor David Paterson will attend the event and will receive the King of Kings award.

This year’s Man of the Year honor will be given to Joel I. Klein, the Chancellor of the NYC Department of Education.

Also being honored this year are Stuart B. Almer, Executive Vice President of Parker Jewish Institute; Jim Carter, Vice President of the Eastern Sales Division of American Airlines; Thomas Chen, President of Crystal Window & Door Systems; Michael J. Dowling, President and CEO of North Shore-LIJ Health System; Ronald A. Fatoullah, CEO, attorney at law, Ronald Fatoullah and Associates; Thomas Galante, CEO and Library Director of Queens Library; Reverend Donald J. Harrington, President of St. John’s University; John J. Hogan, Director, of Quinn-Fogarty Funeral Home and President of Flushing Chamber of Commerce & Business Association; Neil Levin, Chairman of Webline Designs, Inc.; Drew Manger, Director of Economic Development for Con Edison; Stephen S. Mills, President and CEO of NY Hospital Queens; Joseph Pistilli, President, CEO and Chairman of the Board for Pistilli Realty and First Central Savings Bank; George M. Proctor, Executive Director of Queens Hospital Center; Jack W. Rainey, Vice President of Government and Community Banking for TD Bank; Harendra Singh, President and CEO of Singh Hospitality Group; and Charles M. Strain, Managing Partner at Farrell Fritz, P.C.

The raffle held at this event will benefit The Fund for Public Schools. The organization “is dedicated to improving New York City’s public schools by attracting private investment in school reform and encouraging greater involvement by all New Yorkers in the education of our children.”

More than 400 people are expected to attend this year’s Kings of Queens.

The Kings of Queens will be held at Terrace on the Park, which is located at 52-11 111th Street. Free parking will be available.
