Ozone Park merchants re-launch association

With the re-launch earlier this year of the 101st Avenue Merchant’s Association, business owners in Ozone Park can be assured that their voices are heard.
“We have a solid business community,” explained Dr. Vincent Evangelista, Chair. “A lot of business owners had been saying that their voices were not being heard singularly. As a group, we can deal more effectively with agencies.”
Currently, the Association has 75 businesses registered on 101st Avenue, from Woodhaven Boulevard to 107th Street.
However, Evangelista said that, “we are growing and looking to expand our affiliations with other business districts and civic associations.”
He also told The Courier that the Merchant’s Association is looking to grow toward Rockaway Boulevard.
The 101st Avenue Merchant’s Association meets the second Monday of each month. At its most recent holiday gathering, the honorees were Captain Armando DeLeon, Commanding Officer of the 102nd Precinct; City Councilmember Eric Ulrich; Assemblymember Mike Miller; State Senator Joseph Addabbo; and Nick Comaianni and Scott Jordan, both members of Community Board 9.
