Sunnyside Tattoo Parlor Opens on Queens Blvd

Sunnyside Tattoo Studio, located at 39-24A Queens Blvd., opened its doors for business this week.

The parlor is owned by Mike and Corinne Padavano and represents their desire to work and operate in a much quieter neighborhood than the loud, aggressive places in the City.

Mike is the artist, who has been giving tattoos for more than a decade. His wife is the more studious of the two and runs things from a managerial standpoint.  The couple have a 1-year-old child and live two blocks from where the parlor is located.

Mike gets the most joy by creating custom tattoos, where he comes up with the art and uses it as the guide for a tattoo. He will also do traditional tattoos and piercings.

Small tattoos (often the size of a 1/2 dollar coin) will cost about $30 until early next year. Such tattoos, include a rose, butterfly and a name. Typically the minimum cost of a tattoo is $50.

Three nights a week, Mike works at Kingdom Tattoo in the Village, while he gets his new venture off the ground.
