A College Point man was found dead Monday morning in an Atlantic City motel room, according to the Atlantic City prosecutor’s office.
Police discovered the body of 27-year-old Victor Castillo after entering a room in the Rodeway Inn at 3601 Pacific Ave. at about 3:30 a.m. following a 911 call about a disturbance there, said Madelaine Vitale, spokeswoman for the prosecutor’s office.
Atlantic County Medical Examiner Dr. Hydow Park conducted an autopsy on Castillo Monday, but further tests must be performed before the cause of death can be determined, according to the prosecutor’s office.
More information about Castillo, crime scene descriptions and other details were not available Monday afternoon because the slaying was still under investigation.
“The prosecutor’s office Major Crimes Unit were notified and responded and are investigating,” Vitale explained. The Atlantic City Police Department is assisting with the investigation.
A man who answered the Rodeway Inn’s listed phone number Monday afternoon said he did not have any details about the death because he had not been working when the body was found.
“The police are already here. Still the police are investigating,” the man said. “Please, we are busy with the police investigation right now, so don’t disturb us. Thank you very much.”
A spokesman for the ACPD declined to comment and referred all inquiries to the prosecutor’s office.
