A second first for Stavisky

            State Senator Toby Ann Stavisky holds the distinction of being the first woman to be elected to the senate from Queens – in November 1999.

On Tuesday, April 13, she made her second entry into the State Senate history books by being the first female elected official from Queens to preside over the Senate.

            The session included the passage of more than 70 resolutions.
