More than 1,000 visitors came out to Citi Field for the Queens Chamber of Commerce Business Expo, which featured well over 100 exhibitors from all different industries.
Throughout the day, business people walked around the Caesar’s Club at Citi Field visiting expo tables, networking and making new business connections.
“It’s an excellent opportunity for business people to see what we do in Queens,” said Drew Manger, who is the Queens Director of Economic Development for Con Ed and the Chair of the Chamber’s Business and Industry Committee, who has helped run the Chamber Business Expo for many years.
Lou Vlahos, a board member at the Queens Chamber and a tax partner at Farrell Fritz, which was one of the silver sponsors of the expo, said that the firm is committed to the borough and the expo present a lot of opportunities for vendors and attendees alike.
Throughout the day, attendees had the opportunity to meet new business contacts and even win prizes at raffles that were held throughout the day. This was the second year in a row that the Chamber has held the Expo at Citi Field, and it has drawn rave reviews from exhibitors and attendees.
“This is the best venue in the borough to hold a tradeshow,” Manger said, referring to the wide aisle spaces that allow patrons to easily move around the expo tables as crucial to keeping the flow of the show moving.
Neil Levin, the vice president of Webline Design, who attends many Chamber events and tradeshows throughout the area, said that he was hoping to generate 20-25 leads during the day – some of which he hopes will translate into new business for his company – and agreed that the venue is impressive.
“I think the venue is fantastic; it’s close to the highways, it has free parking and is close to public transportation too,” Levin said. “It’s just a beautiful place to come for a tradeshow.”
