Sharp-eyed Times Square vendor Duane Jackson (left, with microphone) thanks City Councilmember Peter F. Vallone Jr. (center) for the Proclamation he received at a City Hall ceremony on Wednesday, May 12.
Vallone, who chairs the council’s Public Safety Committee, invited Jackson and fellow vendor Lance Horton (right) to City Hall and presented them with the Proclamations for their involvement in thwarting the May 1 car bomb plot on West 45th Street.
“Out of all the people who pass through West 45th Street, Lance and Duane were able to see beyond the commotion of Times Square and alert police to the suspicious vehicle,” Vallone said.
“Behind these two proclamations are eight million New Yorkers saying thanks,” he added.
