ASTORIA — A 50-year-old man was arrested last week after crashing his car into a closed street, the Queens district attorney’s office said.
Mauro Sanfelici of 29th Avenue was arraigned on driving under the influence and other charges May 13, according to the DA’s office.
On May 2, Sanfelici was driving at the intersection of 29th Avenue and 21st Street around 8:45 a.m. when he crashed his 2002 Kia into a barrier without his seat belt on, the criminal complaint said.
When he got out of the vehicle, a police officer advised him that the street was closed, but he allegedly started screaming, according to the complaint. The officer said she observed that Sanfelici had bloodshot eyes and his breath smelled of alcohol, the complaint said.
He allegedly told the officer, “I’m drunk,” according to the complaint.
