Thief stole bike after assaulting victim

FRESH MEADOWS — A bike theft took place outside a 7-Eleven store Friday afternoon, police said.

The suspect approached the bike rider outside the Francis Lewis Boulevard location around 3:30 p.m., said, “Let me see your bike!” placed the victim in a choke hold and fled on the two-wheeler, according to police.
