Winthrop University Hospital opens breast unit

Women who live in Nassau County and beyond now have access to a new state-of-the-art, fully-digital breast imaging and diagnostic center, thanks to Winthrop University Hospital.

On Tuesday, June 15, the Winthrop community gathered to celebrate the opening of its new Breast Imaging and Diagnostic Center at 120 Mineola Boulevard in Mineola.

This contemporary suite combines the latest in breast imaging and diagnostic equipment with the expertise and compassion of a team of Winthrop specialists who provide women with the best possible care.

The new facility is complete with the latest mammography and ultrasound equipment, which provides unprecedented image quality along with rapid results, often while patients wait. The Center is also equipped with comfortable, private changing areas and offers extended evening and weekend hours as well as free on-site parking to best serve patients’ needs.

Winthrop’s Breast Imaging and Diagnostic Center provides a multidisciplinary approach to breast health, offering not only services of skilled technologists, but also easy access to Winthrop’s team of board-certified physicians and specialists including radiologists, pathologists, medical and radiation oncologists, and world-class surgeons specially trained in breast, plastic and reconstructive surgery.
