Lenny’s Pizza is opening tomorrow and its owners will be assuring their customers a “Taste of Italy in every bite.”
The owners of the business are the Russo brothers, Lenny and Angelo, who have a long history in the pizza business. Their father started working in the business in the 1980s and they are following in his footsteps.
“I want to make this a neighbourhood place,” Lenny said, “where I get to know the customers.” He said he’s very familiar with the area since his parents lived in Sunnyside when he was born — but later moved to Bayside.
The pizzeria is located at 44-08 Greenpoint Ave. This was the former site of El Triangulo Bakery & Restaurant, a Colombian bakery.
“I want to make it as kid friendly as possible by giving out balloons to the local children,” Lenny said. In the future, he said, he would like to hold small birthday parties for young kids. Lenny has a 6-year-old daughter himself.
The prices appear reasonable. A slice will cost $1.85, while a large cheese pie, $12.00. “I want to keep it fair since times are a bit tough out there.”
The pizzeria will provide free deliveries starting Saturday. The phone number is 718-786-8100 and the business has a website with its menu at http://www.lennyspizzany.com
The pizzeria will provide everything from Sicilian slices, vegetarian pies, subs, burgers, pastas to chicken and eggplant parmigiana.
