Man wanted in fatal deli shooting
It was the third such tragedy for the Torres family.
On Saturday, October 23, 54-year-old Juan Torres was fatally shot inside his family business, the Lucky Deli, located at 220-23 Merrick Boulevard in Laurelton, after a botched gun-point robbery.
Upon arrival, police officers discovered Torres unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head. EMS also responded to the scene and pronounced him dead.
Cops are now looking for the suspect, described as a black male, approximately 40-45 years old, 6’0 to 6’2, approximately 200 pounds, last seen wearing a black sweater.
Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
In 1999, Torres’s brother Jesus was killed while working at the Ridgewood Deli, and seven years ago, a cousin was fatally shot inside the Lucky Deli.
