RIDGEWOOD — A Ridgewood man allegedly broke an order of protection by intentionally making physical contact with the woman he was ordered to avoid, police said.
An order of protection against Phillip Grimaldi, 38, requires him to stay away from and avoid contacting Miriam Acosta from Aug. 6 until Feb 4., 2011, according to police.
But Grimaldi allegedly broke that judge’s order Sept. 28 in front of 454 Woodward Ave. when he crossed paths with Acosta, police said.
On that date, he allegedly crossed the street, bumped Acosta’s shoulder and grinned at her, causing “her annoyance and alarm,” police said.
Grimaldi was arraigned Oct. 5 on charges of criminal contempt and harassment and was released on his own recognizance, police said.
He scheduled to appear again in court Nov. 15.
