Sunnyside’s business leaders are meeting for the second time on Wednesday to put in place a plan to lure attractive businesses to the neighborhood–and stem the tide of recent closings.
The attendees, from Queens Boulevard landlords to Sunnyside business owners (all welcome), aim to put into action some of the ideas that were raised during their first meeting in August. These ideas included: improving store awnings and frontages — to finding and luring the types of stores that would add to the attraction of Queens Bvld./Greenpoint Ave. as a shopping destination.

The urgency of these meetings is in response to a series of store closings throughout the neighborhood in the past 18 months. Many have been documented on this site.
The meeting will be held at Dazies (39-41 Queens Blvd), October 13, 8:45 am.
