New York City’s Off-Tracking Betting Corp. is slated to close midnight Tuesday, leading to the shuttering of 50 betting shops. These closures include the branch in Sunnyside and the one in Woodside.
The OTB needed Albany lawmakers to approve a restructuring plan to preserve the bankrupt New York City Off-Track Betting Corp. Today, the State Senate voted down the bill, 29 to 21.
The lack of funding will lead to the firing of more than 800 workers in New York City.
There are two parlors in Sunnyside/Woodside:
- 44-05 Queens Boulevard (44th & 45th Streets)
- 62-17 Roosevelt Ave.(62nd Street)
