Amy Mulligan, coach of the men’s basketball team at Vaughn College in Flushing and a graduate of Queens College, recently received the Hudson Valley Men’s Athletic Conference Coach of the Year award for the 2011.
“It felt tremendous. I was completely humbled by it and shocked by it,” said Mulligan after receiving the award. “I couldn’t have done it without the team.”
Under Mulligan’s tutelage, the Warrior’s won five out of its final seven games in this season’s conference tournament and had three of its players named to the 2010-2011 All-Conference team.
“They have learned how to be a team and how to be successful as a team together,” she said. “They really came together as a team on the court.”
