Queens Courier Launches New Beta Website

The Queens Courier

Explore and Test the New QueensCourier.com

Get Involved…We Want to Hear From You

We are proud to announce the launch of the new queenscourier.com. We will continue to be the web’s most comprehensive and quality local news site dedicated to the borough of Queens, but will have a new platform with a better design and many more bells and whistles. The site is being launched as a beta site and we encourage our readers to become a registered user and test the new features and functionality. We want you to contribute to the site and the new online community that has been formed.
We emphasize you to make comments to stories, upload events, pictures and classified ads, ask and find answers to questions from other visitors in our new Q&A forum, view videos and explore all the current features. We welcome your comments on how to make the site better and report any issues or problems you may find. Because we are in the testing stage you may find small issues that we will fix with your input. You can email us directly at jlane@queenscourier.com.
As a thank you, our first 1,000 registered users that comment on at least five stories, will automatically be entered in a contest to win gift certificates to local restaurants and a $100 gift card. The winner will be randomly selected.
As a registered user you will have a dashboard with your contact information and access to upload events free of charge, photos in our galleries and comments to all stories. The site will continue to have new and more advanced features added over time.
Some of the new features you will find on our beta site include:
a sleaker user interface
more frequent and timely updates throughout the day
the ability to log-in via your facebook and twitter pages
commenting and sharing stories to several social networks
unique pages with local news for each community in Queens
events searchable by topic
interactive classified advertisements where you can find a local job, home, plumber, roofer and so much more
browse the pages of our newspapers with our digital editions
find the best Queens stories from around the web
photo galleries of local events
enter one of our many contests
We will have restaurant reviews available from hundreds of Queens restaurants. Let us and your neighbors know how your meal was by commenting on the reviews.
In addition to finding award-winning stories from our reporters we will also have blogs from the borough’s leaders and experts discussing many different topics from politics to theatre. We are seeking bloggers to contribute a one time featured blog post on a topic of your interest and passion or have a recurring blog. With every blog we will include your picture, bio and link back to your website. We will also post a link to your blog on all of our twitter and facebook pages. Email me directly at jschneps@queenscourier.com if you are interested in blogging.
Our goal is to make qns.com your online community to learn, share, comment and mostly importantly make Queens a better place to live and work. Explore, interact and enjoy the new queenscourier.com.
Sincerely,
Joshua Schneps
