Local elected officials and community leaders were treated to lunch by the Greater Ridgewood Youth Council (GRYC) last Thursday afternoon, Feb. 2, at their new location at the former Glenridge Senior Center site on Summerfield Street. As noted, GRYC President Robert Monahan reviewed with guests the council’s functions as well as its future projects. Among those taking part in the luncheon were State Sen. Joseph Addabbo, Assemblyman Mike Miller, City Council Member Elizabeth Crowley, Community Board 5 District Manager Gary Giordano, Police Officers Thomas Bell and Tony Jimenez of the 104th Precinct Community Affairs Unit, Hank Kraker and Joe Aiello of the Kiwanis Club of Glendale and the GRYC, Mark Scott of the Queens Borough President’s office, Anne Krzyzanowski of Assemblywoman Catherine Nolan’s office, Evelyn Cruz of Rep. Nydia Velázquez’s office and Peter Pottier of City Council Member Diana Reyna’s office.
