Sacred Heart Honors Top Students

Hundreds of students and residents joined local elected officials for a “family literacy walk” through Long Island City on Oct. 12 in support of the Queens Borough Public Library’s Family Literacy Program at the Ravenswood branch. As noted

During their First Friday Mass on Feb. 3, a number of children at Sacred Heart School in Glendale received Student of the Month awards for achieving high marks during January. Shown along with Fr. John Fullum, pastor, Fr. Binoy George, associate vicar, and Joanne Gangi, the school’s principal, the honorees included Nicole Wagner and David Lara, first grade; CrystalAnne DiBenedetto and Nikolaus Meditz, second grade; Ashley Williamson, third grade; Kimberly Vineski, fourth grade; Kayla Osoriko and Arthur Jannello-Ruiz, fifth grade; Clarissa Agate and Caolgero Giacomarra, sixth grade; Jessica Graue, seventh grade; Brendan Dooley and Alyssa Curzio, eighth grade; Vineski and Natalia Szymankiewicz, art; Erin Fahey and Amerah Medina, computer; Christopher Nelson and Ava Pullara, physical education; and Nicholas Mezic and Kiera Mastropietro, Spanish language.
