Cops seek man in relation to robbing food carts

BOROUGHWIDE — The NYPD was asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted for robbing food cart vendors earlier this month in Elmhurst and Rego Park, as well as in Astoria and Ozone Park.

Within the week spanning March 2 to 10, the suspect allegedly approached six food cart vendors along Queens near the Long Island Expressway with a gun, demanded money and fled.

The suspect, described as a 20-to-25-year-old white or Hispanic male weighing between 150 and 170 pounds and standing approximately 5 feet, 11 inches tall, allegedly did the same to a food vendor in South Ozone Park and one in Astoria.

He also allegedly robbed a livery cab driver in Elmhurst.
