Giving Back to a Giving Group

The Sunnyside Reformed Church presented a check to Long Island City’s Hour Children on Monday morning, Mar. 5. The Skillman Avenue congregation donated $250 to the 37th Avenue-based nonprofit, which provides an array of services-including housing, childcare, counseling, legal assistance and advocacy-to incarcerated women and their children. Seen in photo are (from left) John Jager, a church elder; Hour Children Executive Director Sister Tesa Fitzgerald; and Alessandra Rose, the agency’s director of development. Currently, Hour Children has five residences that house approximately 60 families each year.
