NYPD officers were looking for an Ozone Park woman and her infant daughter Wednesday afternoon after the 40-year-old mother allegedly fled Queens Hospital Center with the baby, police said.
Leila Rajnarie, of 101st Avenue and 77th Street, had been at the Jamaica Hills hospital with her 8-month-old daughter, Nevita Jagdeo, and her daughter’s foster mother before she allegedly ran off with the child, according to police.
The women had been going to the hospital for a check-up and Rajnarie is suspected of snatching the infant at around 12:17 p.m. when the foster mother was speaking with the doctor, police said.
Rajnarie stands about five feet, two inches to five feet, five inches tall and weighs between 150 to 160 pounds, according to NYPD. She has long black hair with blonde highlights that she was wearing in a pony tail when last seen, police said. Rajnarie was also wearing a red sweater with dark pants and pink socks, according to police.
Baby Nevita was wearing a cream-colored onesie with bears, police said.
