U17s Come From Behind To Win

The Blau Weiss Gottschee U8Cs won their fourth game in a row to keep an undefeated record for the season with a 10-2 win against Manhattan Kickers on Saturday at Pier 40.

Liam Molloy scored five, while Nick Ulloa (2), Jordan Cohen, Jason Araujo and Patryk Zezula also did damage. Keanu Stingone had his best game of the season at right full back.

The U8Ds beat SC Gjoa Blue 5-0 thanks to two goals scored at the start of the first half by Shane Lee. Three goals were scored in the second half, two by Rory Duggan and one by Pascal Kavanagh.

With a 5-0 win over the Brooklyn Patriots F.S.A. Fundamental Boys, the BWG Cosmos U8E jumped into third place in the CJSL Spring 2012 U8C division.

Erwin Osmanovic and Luka Popovic got on the scoring sheet for the first time this season with two goals each and were joined with a goal by Vincent Ruffo.

U9s

The BWG U9Bs won on Saturday 7-3 against NY Stars Premier.

U13s

This weekend, the Gottschee U13 boys had a bit of difficulty.

On Saturday the boys played two games; in the morning they faced Silver Lake, losing 3-2. In the afternoon, they played HBC in the NY Cup tournament and lost 1-0.

On Sunday, the boys went to New Jersey to Play SMC United. Unlike Saturday, they came out on top, 3-0.

U12s

On Saturday, the BWG Cosmos U12As played against Jersey Shore Boca Jrs. and won 5-2. Goal scorers were Joseph Sepulveda (2), Peter Mazanek , Daniel Churbakov and Billy Moutopoulos.

On Sunday, the BWG Cosmos U12A played in the state cup against the Dix Hills Hurricanes. BWG Cosmos played well but took a loss, 2-1. Mazanek scored the lone BWG goal.

U17s

The Boys U17 Green team came from behind to tie Soccer ABC 3-3 at Miller Field in Staten Island.

Sloppy weather did not help the Cosmos, as Soccer ABC scored two goals early in the first half. Anthony Vilardi began the come back when he headed in another Francisco Osorio corner kick to bring the score 2-1 after the first half.

Two more Cosmos goals by Joe Gaviria and Ivan Vujin helped the Cosmos take the lead, but it was short lived as Soccer ABC was able to equalize the game in the end.

The U17 Green team remains in first place at the halfway point of the season.

High school girls

The HS girls played season game against Brentwood Thundercats and the girls won 3-2. Goals were scored by Olivia McFadden with two by Therese Boyle.

99 Academy

The Cosmos 99 Blue Pre-Academy team had a successful weekend as they defeated Syosset Saturday in a U13 NY Cup quarterfinal 6-1, which will allow them to advance to the semifinal against Albertson 98 Academy.

On Sunday, the boys continued their winning streak as they shut out South Central 8-0 in a pre-academy game and secured their first place position in that league.
