Pets Saved from Midville House Fire

Two dogs were rescued by firefighters from a burning Middle Village home on Monday afternoon, May 14, FDNY sources said. Reportedly, the one-alarm blaze broke out at around 3:05 p.m. on the second floor of a home located in the vicinity of Penelope Avenue and 84th Place. Responding to the scene (in the order of their arrival) were members of Engine companies 319, 287, 324 and 305; Ladder companies 136, 138 and 151; Squad Co. 270; Rescue 4 and Battalions 46 and 28-under the direction of Division 14-along with the 104th Precinct and EMS units. No residents were reportedly injured. One hose line was used by firefighters to extinguish the blaze, FDNY sources said.
