As noted, participants in the celebration ranged from six years old to 100 years young. Students from Smaranda Ianculovici’s Class 1-205 recited a poem about the importance of trees, which was written by Audrey Glass, coordinator of the multigenerational event. David Bishop, principal of PS 88, presented Barbara Toscano, dIrector of the Cardella Center, with an English Laurel bush that will be planted in the front garden of the center. Peter Cardella and many of the senior citizens at the center also participated in the celebration.
