Hauls Away Hard(ware) Cash In Glendale

Instead of looking for power tools or construction supplies, a bandit went shopping for cash at The Home Depot in Glendale during a robbery on Sunday afternoon, July 22, police reported.

Law enforcement sources said the caper took place at around 12:01 p.m. at the “big box” hardware retailer located at 75-09 Woodhaven Blvd.

According to information obtained by police, the suspect-described as a 26-year-old male-approached a cashier and made a verbal demand for money.

No weapons were displayed by the robber, NYPD sources stated.

Once the employee provided him with an undisclosed amount of currency from the register, authorities noted, the suspect fled from the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

Members of the 112th Precinct responded to the scene. There were no injuries.

No immediate arrests were made, and the investigation by the 112th Precinct Detective Squad is ongoing, police said.
