Firefighters rushed to a Ridgewood home on Monday night, June 25, after a one-alarm fire broke out in the basement of the residence, it was reported. According to FDNY sources, the blaze ignited at around 10:45 p.m. at a home in the vicinity of Fairview Avenue and Stanhope Street. Responding to the scene (as listed in numerical order) were members of Engine companies 218, 271, 277 and 291; Ladder companies 112, 124 and 140; Squad Co. 288; REscue 4 and Battalions 28 and 37-under the direction of Division 14-along with the 104th Precinct and EMS units. There were no reported injuries. Two hose lines were used by firefighters to bring the blaze under control, FDNY sources said.
