TD Bank is expected to open a retail branch on the corner of 41st Street and Queens Blvd in November, according to several Sunnyside sources.
The bank is expected to hold an elaborate grand opening at the time and has already committed to sponsor several local events, according to business leaders. Representatives of the bank did not return calls.
The bank takes over the space that had been occupied by Moon Candy & Grocery and a veterans’ outpatient clinic. Both closed in Sept. 2011 to make way for the bank.
The veterans outpatient clinic moved to 47-01 Queens Boulevard (3rd floor) in Sunnyside, days after it closed.
