Firefighters rushed to extinguish a one-alarm fire that broke out inside a vacant Bushwick home last Thursday afternoon, Feb. 21, Fire Department sources said. Reportedly, the blaze ignited at around 2 p.m. on the second floor of the two-story dwelling on Ellery Street near Broadway. Responding to the scene (in the order of their arrival) were members of Engine companies 217, 218, 202 and 216; Ladder companies 108, 102, 111 and 119; Squad Co. 252; Rescue 2 and Battalions 35 and 37-under the direction of Division 11-along with the 83rd Precinct and EMS units. There were no injuries. One hose line was used by firefighters to bring the blaze under control, said an FDNY source.
