Higher fare must equal better service

Now that the bus and subway fares have increased, will there be a corresponding increase in the quality of service for the riding public?

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is always complaining that it never has enough money and has to raise fares in order to reduce its budget deficit, but the service it provides to the people of this city has not improved significantly.

Why don’t the executives on the MTA board voluntarily reduce their salaries to help offset the deficit? New Yorkers are tired of being nickle and dimed every time there is a fare increase.

Enough is enough!
