The NYPD was asking for the public’s help in finding both a man suspected of punching another person on a subway train and the victim of that assault.
A cellphone video caught the suspect allegedly assaulting the other unidentified person on a Queens-bound No. 7 train on May 5 at 1 a.m., police said. The video, in which the suspect is seen punching the victim, was sent to the Central Robbery Queens Transit Squad Friday. Police said the suspect exited the train at the 69th Street Station.
Police described the suspect as a white or Hispanic male, 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds with brown eyes and long black hair in a ponytail, and said he was wearing a dark T-shirt and blue jeans.
The police did not release a description of the victim, whose face was blurred out in the video.
Anyone with information was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS or submit tips online at nypdcrimestoppers.com or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES), entering TIP577.
