CITYWIDE — The NYPD was seeking the public’s help in finding a suspect who helped orchestrate a total of 18 burglaries throughout the city by falsely claiming to be a utility worker.
Cops said the man would approach different properties posing as a utility worker throughout the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island and engage homeowners in a conversation as two or three other men burglarize the homes.
The incidents date as far back as Feb. 18, 2012, in Staten Island and go on through April 29 within the confines of the 108th Precinct in Long Island City, police said. The burglaries went on throughout different areas of mostly northern Queens, the NYPD said.
