An authentic Mexican restaurant, with a heavy focus on tacos, has opened on 47th Avenue.
The establishment, named Tacos Santa Fe, is located at 47-08 47th Avenue, where Real Santa Fe ( a similar Mexican restaurant) once operated. Tacos Santa Fe has no ties to the former entity—despite the similar logo and name.
Tacos Santa Fe serves food from its front window to customers who sit on bar stools. The interior space is not used for restaurant purposes; instead, it is used by the company for its catering business.
“We moved into this area because there are a lot of people around here who love real Mexican food,” said Nelly Siguecia, the owner. “Most places in the neighborhood are Tex-Mex, yet many people want the real thing.”
The restaurant is reasonably priced. Tacos sell for $2 each, or three for $5. Meanwhile, burritos cost $6, tortas $6 and quesadillas $5.
The restaurant offers free delivery. It can be reached at 718-269-9946
