A health & beauty spa is opening at 46-04 Skillman Avenue this Friday.
The establishment, called Beauty & Balance Healing Spa, will be serving food and beverages all day on Friday while offering special deals on nail, massage and wax services.
The spa is comprised of a ground floor that includes three massage rooms, a facial/waxing room and a manicure/pedicure area set beside a working fireplace beneath a large skylight.
There is also a basement area that the owner plans to use for yoga, acupuncture and other treatments downstairs in the future.
“We want to create a haven,” said David Rosas, who is the manager. “This is a place for people to escape to.”
The Tibetan owner of the business, Kunsang Shyalpatsang, also happens to own the building. Shyalpatsang has owned it since 2002 and was the landlord when the Romanian Garden was the tenant.
Meanwhile, last month, the Center for Health and Happiness opened at 39-37 43rd Avenue in Sunnyside, offering acupuncture and yoga. This space was previously occupied by Hi-Star Realty Inc.
