5 Napkin Burger Closes Astoria Location

Dec. 9, 2013 By Christian Murray

5 Napkin Burger, which has a number of burger joints around the city, closed its Astoria location today.

“After three years, we have decided to close the 5 Napkin Burger in Astoria,” the company said in a statement. “It was a hard decision to make as we have enjoyed being part of the community, but we are eager now to focus on other growth opportunities for 5 Napkin Burger in New York City and beyond.”

The news of the closure was first reported by the local food blog We Heart Astoria.

The Astoria location opened in 2010 to much fanfare. It was located at 35-01 36th Street (near 35th Ave.), close to Kaufman Astoria Studios.

5 Napkin Burger has three sites in Manhattan, as well as one in Boston and another in Miami.

The company, in a statement, said its employees would be relocated to other 5 Napkin Burger locations and or to a sister restaurant in Oren’s Tour de France restaurant group.
