Police are looking for a man who robbed a livery cab driver at gunpoint in Long Island City Saturday afternoon.
The driver picked up the suspect around 4:30 p.m. in front of a grocery store near 40th Avenue and 9th Street, said cops. During the ride, the suspect pulled out a gun and said he was robbing the driver. The victim pulled the car over at 45th Avenue and Vernon Boulevard and handed over his cash to the suspect, who then fled on foot northbound on Vernon Boulevard.
There were no injuries reported.
The suspect is described as a black, 5’7″ tall, approximately 170 pounds, and was wearing a baseball cap and white tank top.
