Boys And Girls Teams Put Up Big Numbers, Bring Home Many Trophies
During the Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend, many BWG teams were part of different indoor tournaments.

With great play and groups of talented soccer kids, the teams won many first- or second- place trophies.
The BWG U9 Royals surprised many in winning the indoor CJSL B tournament on Sunday, Jan. 19. They defeated Chelsea Piers, Footbalers, Astoria, Met Oval Istria and again Chelsea Piers in the final with a score of 6-2. In the five games, the kids scored 35 goals.
BWG U9 Blue, meanwhile, defeated Jigs 9-0, Asphalt Green 8-1, MSC 18-0 and Edgemount 7-0. In the end, however, they were denied first place by losing 3-1 to Garden City in the finals of their tournament.

BW Gottschee Blue 03 Team (U10A) were the undefeated champions of the CJSL indoor tournament, wining the final with a decisive 7 -1 against Chelsea Piers.
The U11 Blue played in the U12 division at the Rockland soccer tournament. The team won four of five games in taking home the second-place trophy.
On the girls’ side, the BWG U15 team squared off against LI Rough Riders, Terryvile United and the Farmingdale Stars in a nine-a-side soccer tournament on Martin Luther King Day at the SUSA Bubble in Lindenhurst.

The girls advanced to the finals workout conceding a goal with a solid record of 2 wins and a draw. The final against the Rough Riders was a close game that Gottschee won 2-0.
