Music helped to get Middle Village residents in the holiday spirit during concerts held in the days leading up to Christmas. As shown in the top photo, students from M.S. 74 in Oakland Gardens- under the direction of Frank B. Auriemma-performed various Christmas carols for shoppers in front of Community United Methodist Church on Metropolitan Avenue on Dec. 20. In the middle photo, members of the Grace Notes and the St. Margaret Children’s Choir delighted an audience with their cantata performance at St. Margaret Church on Dec. 22. Meanwhile in Sunnyside, fifth-graders from P.S. 150 were recently treated to a breakfast provided by The Dog and the Duck Restaurant. In addition to enjoying good food and fellowship, the youngsters learned about running a restaurant.
