The police have arrested a man in connection with a hit-and-run accident that left five people hurt at a bus stop on Northern Boulevard Saturday night.
The police said Luis Andrade, a 32-year-old Jackson Heights resident, has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident with a serious injury.
Andrade was arrested Sunday afternoon.
The police said Andrade struck five victims with a white Mazda sedan as they waited at a bus stop at Northern Boulevard and 48th Street at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Andrade then fled the scene in the car and ditched the vehicle outside 37-59 61st Street, where it was found a short time later.
The accident left a 7-year-old girl with a skull fracture, but the injury is not considered life threatening. The other victims suffered injuries, although none serious.
